Truffles in Italy- 2nd edition
The two days dedicated to truffles are back: the most precious fruit of the land

With the arrival of autumn our tables are filled with seasonal products, including excellent truffles! Indeed it is precisely during this time of the year that the search for this precious product of the earth intensifies.

In partnership with the "Città del Tartufo" association,we are hosting the second edition of Truffles in Italy, a weekend of events, exhibitions, tastings, and experiences with truffles featuring the participation of a dozen truffle cities, letting you smell, taste and buy the most precious varieties.

Program:

October 11th from 8 pm | FICO Foundation Classroom

Finding and digging up Truffles in Italy. Expertise and traditional methods

Support for the UNESCO candidacy together with the Associazioni dei Tartufai of Emilia Romagna.

 

October 12th and 13th, all day long | Piazza Eataly World

Italian Truffle Market

Sale and exhibition of truffles from Acqualagna, Alba, Città di Castello, Gubbio, Montalcino, Pietralunga, San Miniato, Valsamoggia and the Molise Region.

SATURDAY, October 12th

AFTERNOON

 

4.30 pm    Valsamoggia (BO) tasting "Balanzone goes into the woods" balanzoni pasta stuffed with spinach, mortadella and ricotta cheese.

6 pm     SAN MINIATO (PI)  tasting "From pork products to the art of baking: the knowledge and flavors of San Miniato, a gastronomic city, from the 1700s to today" 

7,30 pm       ACQUALAGNA (PU)  tasting “Nobility is earned. Truffle soup with grass peas and potatoes with mascarpone cheese mousse" by Chef Michele Pentucci.

 

SUNDAY, October 13th

MORNING

 

11.30: GUBBIO (PG) tasting of "Raviolone of braised meats with pumpkin, White Truffle and hazelnuts" by Chef Alessio Manucci.

1 pm: CITTÀ DI CASTELLO (PG) tasting for the 40th Exhibition of the Truffle of Città di Castello: "Tortello and finger food Trifola style with Pietralunga potatoes and Parmigiano Reggiano" by the Istituto Alberghiero Cavallotti

  

AFTERNOON

 

3 pm: CENTRO NAZIONALE STUDI TARTUFO DI ALBA (CN) "Sensory analysis of the White Truffle of Alba in combination with Dolcetto d'Alba DOCG"  by Sensory analysis judge.

4,30 pm: SAN GIOVANNI D'ASSO (SI) tasting "Crete Senesi and Brunello White Truffle...history, region, taste and flavors" by the Association of Sienese Truffles and the Brunello di Montalcino Wine Consortium

 

October 13th from 3 to 4.30 pm | Arena Theater

The Truffle in esotericism, beliefs and literature

Presentation that investigates the ancient links between truffles and esotericism and popular beliefs.
